Faughnan ’26: Blending Technology and Art

For a student who once worried that health issues might keep him from ever attending college, Curtis Faughnan '26 has made the most of his time at Wabash. A native of Brownsburg, Indiana, Faughnan arrived on campus with serious dietary restrictions that made the prospect of communal living and shared meals a real challenge. Nearly every social event on a college campus revolves around food, and for him, that was a barrier he had to overcome.

But instead of letting those limitations define his experience, Faughnan turned to what he knew best: technology and creativity. He found a way to blend his technical skills with a growing passion for the arts. Over his four years, he has worked on digital media projects, explored graphic design, and contributed to campus productions that required both a logical mind and an artistic eye.

Faughnan says the key was not to see his health struggles as a stop sign, but as a detour that led him to new interests. He learned to navigate the dining hall with confidence and found that his peers were more understanding than he had feared. By focusing on what he could control, he built a college career that bridges two worlds often seen as separate. His story is a reminder that obstacles can sometimes push you toward a more interesting path.
