ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. -- The Albemarle County School Board has selected Jamie Foreman to serve as the next chief technology officer for the local public school system. The appointment was made official during a recent board meeting.
Foreman will oversee the district's technology infrastructure, including network systems, cybersecurity, and digital learning tools used by students and staff. School officials highlighted Foreman's experience in educational technology and his track record of managing large-scale IT projects.
The new CTO steps into the role at a time when schools are increasingly reliant on technology for instruction, data management, and communication. Foreman is expected to focus on improving device access for students, strengthening network security, and supporting teachers with digital resources.
Board members expressed confidence in Foreman's ability to lead the department forward. He replaces the previous chief technology officer, who left the position earlier this year. Foreman's start date has not been announced, but he is expected to begin work in the coming weeks.
